Welcome back to Between the Brackets [ ] where you meet the talented folks that make Webstacks!
We’re shining a well-deserved spotlight on the creative force behind all Webstacks' marketing initiatives — say hello to our Digital Marketing Manager, Eric Izazaga! 👋
Hello to whoever is reading this! My name is Eric Izazaga. I grew up in a small town in Socal called Fontana - also known as Fontucky. After graduating high school, I stayed local and attended UC Riverside as a Creative Writing major - the closest major there was to Journalism. I later switched to Marketing, becoming more interested in social media, product marketing, and market research.
In my free time, you can find me rooting for Manchester City and the Philadelphia Eagles (my favorite color is green); as well as watching the best sports pundits, reading sports analytics, and catching up on book thrillers.
As the Digital Marketing Manager at Webstacks, my responsibilities encompass orchestrating the launch of innovative marketing campaigns across diverse channels - including social media, paid media, the website, and partner relationships. I actively engage in market research to discern industry trends, utilizing data analysis to refine and optimize future marketing initiatives.
I ensure the successful launch of new website pages that resonate with our target audience by collaborating seamlessly with our design and development teams, Moreover, I contribute significantly to lead generation by crafting compelling marketing collateral, including ebooks, guides, and whitepapers, to effectively capture and convert potential clients within the dynamic digital landscape.
13 May 2012 - Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero scored a last-minute goal against Queens Park Rangers to win Manchester City’s FIRST Premier League title in their history - and it would also mark the beginning of a new winningness era for the club.
You could feel the energy and excitement of the stadium at that moment through a screen. I would definitely want to be in the crowd for that historic match! What an incredible moment for the club.
Justin Bieber - How could you not like JB? Play anything from the Purpose album and I’m jamming 🕺
Pink Floyd - One of my favorite sounds from a rock band. From the sound to the lyrics 🔮
Empire of the Sun - Would loooove to see them live! A very unique electronic duo ⚡
I start off my day by making a morning coffee - a Vanilla latte with an extra espresso shot. I check my work emails then scroll LinkedIn for 15min to see what my connections in B2B are saying. I also keep an eye out for awesome creative that I then use as inspiration.
After, I join our Marketing team standup to talk through the initiatives we’re working on. As soon as I hop off, the day gets started. I allocate time to review and analyze the performance metrics of ongoing marketing campaigns across various channels. This involves assessing the impact of our initiatives on lead generation and engagement within the B2B software sector.
Collaborating closely with the design team, I participate in discussions regarding the creation and optimization of creative for our marketing channels, ensuring alignment with our target audience's preferences and brand messaging.
To tie up the day, I make myself available to provide any content reviews, give second opinions on project briefs, and brainstorm new campaign ideas.
I have three core memories:
Being one of the first Webstackers (#4) and seeing the team grow over the last three years. This coincides with the major wins we’ve been able to achieve as a team - from launching awesome products for our B2B partners to upgrading office spaces.
Launching The Best B2B SaaS Websites ebook. For someone early on in my career, it’s one of my biggest achievements. I was fortunate enough to lead the project from concept to design brief to planning to execution. An 80+ ebook that is still a sensational hit for the business today!
Attending HubSpot’s annual conference: INBOUND. It was my first time in Boston and on the East Coast. I am thankful for the opportunity and even more thankful for the company on the trip.
One of the most underrated skills for a Digital Marketing Manager is adaptability and analytics. The digital landscape is dynamic, and trends can change rapidly. Being able to quickly adapt to emerging technologies, shifts in market behavior, and algorithm updates is crucial.
Analytics is another underrated skill as a Digital Marketing Manager. The ability to not only collect data but to derive actionable insights from it is huuuuuge. A skilled digital marketer should be adept at using analytics tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze user behavior, and measure the success of various campaigns.
My five Ls of Marketing:
Learn about a new channel that isn’t Social Media.
Learn the do’s and don’ts of copywriting.
Learn how to build a data report that tells a story.
Learn a new software tool (i.e. Figma, GA, HubSpot, etc).
Learn what you like and don’t like about Marketing.
